Sketchup pro 2016 trial user expired free

Every thing I’ve read says that you can keep running SU Pro after the trial has expired and that the pro features will be greyed out. New to sketchup, a friend recommended it so I downloaded the free 30 day trial of Pro yesterday. Went to start playing with it today. At the top it says Licensed To: SketchUp Pro User, Expired. And the Choose Template button is grayed out. How do I start using the free. I think I understand that when the trial period of Pro expires, Does it revert to one of the earlier free versions like Make ?❿

It may be obvious what the Pro features are so I can avoid them that way, but what I would prefer is to be able to disable them straight away. Sketchup Pro is available free to anyone involved in education – and this is interpreted very widely. The other possibility is that access to your registry is denied, and the installer cannot create registry keys and attributes. Start using SketchUp.❿

SketchUp really has expired, in which case you can download and install the new free version, and then continue using SketchUp. We expire SketchUp in this. I think I understand that when the trial period of Pro expires, Does it revert to one of the earlier free versions like Make ?
